You may have heard me ask the question, “What is the oldest book on the planet that contains economic and financial principles?” The answer is the Bible. It is interesting to note that the Bible also contains very specific information on the proper way to diversify your life’s savings. The Creator of the Universe (who certainly can and does teach us how money works), says we should divide our savings into eight sectors.
This idea of gleaning economic principles from the Bible is not as unusual as it may seem. Harvard University and Yale University, founded in 1636 and 1701, were both established as preacher colleges. Almost all East Coast Colleges were, including Princeton, William and Mary, and Brown. Harvard was named for its first benefactor, John Harvard who was a pastor. Jonathan Edwards, the greatest pastor of the Great Awakening, served as President of Princeton University. His grandson, Timothy Dwight, served as President of Yale. Their main thrust was theological training, but they also taught science, medicine, math, business, and economics. The economic principles came from the Bible.
Those business principles were passed down from textbook to textbook to today’s business schools. Sadly, the fact that their origin was the Bible has been long since forgotten. TRADEway has infused economic principles found in the Bible into personal finance and investing, and I believe this gives the AMPT plan Biblical authority that the world’s financial system cannot provide.
This is an example of how we can relate Bible information to today’s markets: Ezekiel 27:6-7 says, “Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars.... Fine linen...thou spreadest forth to be thy sail....” This speaks of ship building, and the passage lists many other types of industry groups which have been important throughout time and still are today. We might apply this to an industry group today that has to do with cargo ships, trains, trucking, UPS, Fed Ex, etc. We might choose an ETF like IYT, the iShares Transportation Average ETF, to represent this component. This is the idea.
You also take advantage of the PHILOSOPHICAL UNDERPINNINGS of TRADEway’s Bible-based investment system. These include concepts found throughout the TRADEway system such as:
There are three main purposes behind the creation of AMPT. First, the educational component of AMPT allows you to GAIN THE UNDERSTANDING you need to properly diversify your portfolio according to Biblical principles—we provide this training in frequent emails, live and recorded webinars, and even have an online course for those who are interested in diving deeper. The AMPT portfolio is designed straight from the Bible, and therefore it is NOT over-diversified nor is it under-diversified. With proper education, you may gain the understanding to make sure your long-term portfolio is sound. No one cares about your hard-earned money more than you do.
The second reason we created AMPT, and in part, a result of the first, is that you GAIN CONTROL of your hard-earned money so you NEVER have to allow a “buy and hold” advisor to potentially lose 25%, 35%, or 50% of your total life’s savings again in the next bear market! As you probably know, Bear Market crashes and recessions happen about every 3.5 to 5 years on average. With our guidance and assistance (discretionary authority for us to trade/invest on your behalf), we are able to move funds in and out of the market based on cycles and help avoid those large losses in your portfolio.
So, you GAIN UNDERSTANDING, you GAIN CONTROL, and... there is a third benefit with AMPT. You do all this with the ASSISTANCE of TRADEway Advisors, all along the way. Our Registered Investment Advisory Representatives are here to help you, give you guidance, frequently communicate with you, and help manage your funds to best meet your personal goals.
PROTECTION of your hard-earned money by NOT being in the market all the time and potentially higher ROIs by having opportunities to earn when the market is moving down.
Think of the potential money savings of NOT being in the market when it is declining strongly. Imagine how your portfolio could look if we successfully help you navigate the next bear market crash?
While your neighbor is thinking the whole world is falling apart, and watching their portfolio lose value, our team can explain why "buying and holding" does not make sense long-term. We can help you move to the safety of other assets, or to cash, while we wait for the NEXT bull market, and even potentially help make money ON THE WAY DOWN with asset classes we can leverage that INCREASE in value during bear market moves.
